Last Remaining Seats Halloween Edition

Last...Remains

Thank you for joining us for the first-ever Halloween edition of Last Remaining Seats with a screening of two frightful classics at the historic Million Dollar Theater!

Just Added!

We’re thrilled to welcome as this year’s host for both screenings of Last…Remains! With her sharp wit, love of horror, and infectious energy, audiences are in a spooky treat!

SamanthaÌýHale is the creator and host of the monthly horror-themed stand-up comedy show at the Hollywood Improv. Her latest special,Ìý was recently released by Comedy Dynamics.ÌýSamanthaÌýhas appeared and hosted at comedy clubs nationwide as well as at more unusual locations such as Midsummer Scream and other horror conventions, San Diego and Los Angeles Comic Cons, and Missing at the Mortuary, a funeral home-turned-event space that is the subject of HBO’s docuseriesÌýThe Mortician.

Born and raised in Los Angeles,ÌýSamantha is following in the comedic footsteps of her grandfather, Alan Hale, Jr., best known as “The Skipper” from Gilligan’s Island, and her great-grandfather, Alan Hale, Sr., who played opposite Errol Flynn in classic Hollywood swashbuckler films.

Rare are helping kick off the Halloween magic before each screening! Mischievous, spooky, and full of vintage charm, these restored classics will play before the feature films, setting the perfect mood for a night of chills, laughs, and Halloween nostalgia. Betty Boop’s Halloween Party (1933) will open for Young Frankenstein, while Koko’s Haunted House (1928) opens for Carrie.

About Last Remaining Seats

The Los Angeles Conservancy launchedÌýLast Remaining Seats in 1987 to draw attention to the spectacular yet overlooked and underused historic theatres of Los Angeles. The film series has since become a beloved 91Ö±²¥experience and can’t-miss summer tradition.

TheÌýLRS CommitteeÌýhelps plan our annual classic film series in historic theatres. It supports the Conservancy in selecting appropriate films for the series, creating and implementing the pre/post-film programming, events, and displays, and assisting with concessions and day-of programming needs.

The films in this series are presented as originally created during a different time period and may contain negative attitudes, language, and depictions of people and/or cultures. The Los Angeles Conservancy does not condone these representations.
